A stinkin’ cute conversation with my kid

This afternoon I walked into the kitchen and found my three year old lying underneath the kitchen table.

“What are you doing?” I asked her while wondering when I last swept and mopped the kitchen floor.

“I’m waiting for Santa,” she said, crawling out from underneath the table.

You have to love the logic of a three year old.

She followed me into the living room. “Momma, did you know Santa’s bringing you an Elmo doll for Christmas?”

“Really?” I asked. “I’m getting an Elmo doll for Christmas?”

“Yeah!” she cheered. “Yeah! And you’re getting Cookie Monster too.”

“Wow! I must have been a really good girl this year!”

I have to admit, I don’t remember ever asking for either of these two dolls. It’s possible. I could’ve been that drunk. But I think odds are good she was giving me her Christmas wish list.

Calling all parents! Do you have a stinkin’ cute story about one of your kids? Tell me in the comments!

  1. Those 3 year olds are sharp! If only they’d keep their sense into adolescence.
It’s not really cute but my grandson (18) when discussing politics with his Mom and to support his own argument said ‘Grandpa says….’.
So proud to be a term of reference.
