Twice this week I received robo-calls from the “IRS,” claiming that a lawsuit had been filed against me. (Shaking my head.) Don’t these people watch Judge Judy? Generally when someone sues you, you’re served with court documents and then you have the opportunity to file a counterclaim. You’re never notified by phone.
After the second phone call, I decided to call them back and record the whole thing on video. Let’s just say that things didn’t exactly go as planned.
Here’s some information – courtesy of the actual IRS website – that will tell you more about IRS scam phone calls and what to look out for. Please remember, if there is ever a problem with your tax return, the IRS will NEVER call you! They will notify you via USPS.
