Dear Ellen: Why do I always have to order the pizza?

I write letters to Ellen DeGeneres.  Why? Because I Can!

Today is day six of the Writer’s Digest October 2015 platform challenge and I’m still going strong.  For today’s challenge, we had to create a twitter account and tweet something.  I’ve had my twitter account for a few years, so all I did was send off a tweet, comment on the WD blog post and then I was done.

Also today, I wrote another letter to Ellen DeGeneres that I posted on reddit.  This time I posted it on the Ellen DeGeneres subreddit page.  I received one upvote and no comments.  I’m okay with that.

Without further adieu, here is my letter to Ellen.

Dear Ellen,

Yesterday I wrote a letter to you and posted it in the “funny” section of Reddit. I received two comments. One person said I was funny. The other person said I wasn’t. Oh well.

Today, I’m posting this letter on your Reddit group. Maybe I’ll have better luck here.

Dear Ellen (Yes, I’m addressing you again. It’s the start of a new letter and I felt it was appropriate.)

Yesterday evening my husband returned home from work to find that the kids and I were still in our pajamas from this morning. He asked me what I did all day. I told him, “I kept the kids alive and drank coffee. Isn’t that enough?”

Apparently it wasn’t because the next words out of his mouth were, “What’s for dinner?”

Why am I the only person in this house who knows how to order a pizza?

Sincerely yours,

A. Marie

  1. I know someone who had seven kids. Then all the kids left home and the mother started volunteering with a charity organization. One of her daughters, who is working, posted this comment on her Facebook page, “Mama, I am so happy that you are now working.” And what do you think she was doing when she raised seven kids. So, mothers again.
