My editor assigned me the task of writing an article about flooring. “Allison,” she said. “I need the article to list detailed instructions on how to remove every type of flooring and then how to install this specific brand of flooring.”
Sure, I thought. I can do that. I mean I had to watch 65 YouTube videos on how to use my digital pressure cooker before I used it for the first time, but, whatever. I can figure this out. And so I did. I combed through every blog and YouTube video I could find and should the occasion ever arise where I need to remove flooring, I know how to do it. Also, I’m going to hire someone to do it for me. It’s a lot of work.
I find joy in everything in I write. There’s no such thing as tedious or mundane. These are a collection of articles I’ve written for Daily Mom. My favorite article -to date- was Surprising Facts About Gelatin. I wanted to title it, The Joys of Gelatin, but due to SEO requirements, couldn’t. I can’t explain why this article was the most fun for me, but believe me, it was. Also, gelatin is an ingredient used in everything. EVERYTHING.
I’m a curious learner. I love learning about everything. Articles that require research excite me. I never know what I’m going to learn. I loved learning that Queen Victoria helped popularize crochet as a craft by purchasing Irish Lace during the tragic Potato Famine during the 1800s.
Not too long ago I suffered a miserable allergic reaction to some medication I was taking. I needed Diphenhydramine to help with the symptoms and that resulted in another unpleasant side effect: brain fog. I wish I knew then what I know now about beating brain fog.
I’ve never been a shoe person but I now know that if my toes feel cramped, it’s because the toe box is either too shallow or too narrow.
If you hire me to write an article for you, please know that I will embrace the opportunity with enthusiasm and my writing will reflect that. Until then, please take a look at my work.
