Dear Ellen: I really want to be at that meeting!

Sometimes I write letters to Ellen DeGeneres. No particular reason. Just because I can.

Dear Ellen,

I heard back from M&Ms. Here’s their response:

Dear Allison:

Thank you for your email.

We’re pleased to hear you enjoy our M&M’S® Chocolate Candies and appreciate your taking the time to tell us so. Your comments will be shared with our Marketing Associates.

Have a great day!

Your Friends at Mars Chocolate North America

Sooo…..to recap, I told them that my son wants yellow M&Ms when he pees and brown M&Ms when he poops.  It sounds to me like they’re going to discuss my “comment” during a meeting with their marketing associates.  Wow! I wonder how they’re going to use my comments regarding my son’s color-coding skills to improve their marketing.  Are they going to make commercials about toddlers potty training and have the yellow & brown M&Ms make an appearance? Are they going to start selling a special edition potty training bag of chocolate goodness? Will there be toilets drawn onto each yellow and brown candy? Ooh! Will they have a commercial where the yellow and brown M&Ms are potty training their junior M&Ms? I really want to be at that meeting, Ellen!

Sincerely,

A. Marie

  1. I used to attend those meetings. I wish I could say they were fun, but suits talking about marketing is like watching slugs slime their way across a blade of grass. They’re all serious and boring – even the ones that deal with color coding poop – sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but there you have it. Now, the writers on the Ellen show talking about this – that would be fun. I bet they are, too. If they record it, they might let you hear it when you go on the show. You should ask.
