The Friends & Neighbors App

Clarissa flexed her perfectly polished toes as she leaned against the chaise lounge chair, sipping one of Judy’s famous mid-day martinis. “This is heaven.”

“Isn’t it, though?” Judy sat on the edge of her pool, soaking her legs in the water. “Life doesn’t get much better than this.”

“Amen.” Becky sat on her knees, finishing her prayer before joining the others for a drink. “I feel so blessed to have you two in my life. Cheers!” All three of them clinked their martini glasses together.

“Ladies,” Judy began. “Before we delve any further into our drinks, I wanted to mention that I sent each of you an invitation to join an app called Friends & Neighbors.”

“What’s it for?” Clarissa asked, pulling out her cell phone to check out the invite.

“As you might have heard from the board members at the HOA, Premiere Properties is teaming up with other neighborhoods to join this app so we can all communicate with each other regarding serious matters such as abuse of Christmas decorations, local crime, and distribution of cookies that aren’t gluten free, soy free, nut free, dairy free, or sugar free.”

“I’m confused.” Becky sat up. “Why, exactly, would we want to talk people in other neighborhoods?”

“Well,” Judy began, “we are women of privilege. We live in an illustrious neighborhood with other members of the elite and it is our duty to help and advise those who aren’t as fortunate. They’ll benefit from our expertise.”

“You are such a good person,” Becky said.

“Yes. And more importantly, I’m also one of the administrators of the app.”
