Over the past three years I’ve had a lot of changes. Changes with in my careers, mostly. But also relationship changes and geographical changes. Once upon a time I had a different blog dedicated to my career as a death investigator. But when I left that field it didn’t seem right to keep blogging about something that I wasn’t continuously doing.
With all the changes that I’ve made the only thing that has kept me even slightly sane is my love of writing. Lately I’ve been trying to figure out how to establish myself as a writer and I keep reading the same advice over and over again; have a platform. And what is the best platform for aspiring writers, apparently it’s a blog. That’s how you get yourself noticed, from having a well written blog. It worked for Julie Powell, although she blogged everyday for a year about recipes that she cooked everyday for a year. Has anyone out there ever tried a recipe from “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”? I have. That one recipe was absolutely exhausting. Two thumbs up to Julie Powell for keeping that up.
Anyway, I started this blog believing that I could skip over the past and move straight on to the present but it just didn’t seem right. So, to get this new blog off with a kick, I imported my old blog over that has all the stories of my days as an investigator. But wait….there’s more. If you don’t think there’s anything interesting or entertaining about transitioning from death investigation to retail management just wait. There’s a reason why I tell people I was a disgruntled retail manager.
So kick back and enjoy. The best is yet to come. From Death Investigator to Disgruntled Retail Manger: These are excerpts from my life.
